Ghana Actors Guild, is an association formed from a long list of Ghanaian movie stars and is chaired by actor Bill Asamoah. The association which took its roots in Ashanti Region, has introduced a new program to their activities this year called “kyere wo do.”
Kyere wo do, as it can be translated into English as “Show your love” is a program introduced with the intention of occasionally paying visits to less endowed homes such as rehabilitation centers, children’s homes, disability homes and other places alike.
On Friday, 12th of April, 2019, the association embarked on an intensive visit to Edwenase Rehabilitation Center in the Ashanti Region to officially launch the newly introduced program, and discuss how the year’s donation will be planned and executed.
Mr. Bill Asamoah in his position as chairman of the association introduced the program with a quick recap of the visits they had previously paid to the same Edwenase Rehabilitation Center and how grateful the association is to the management of the facility for their usual cooperation.
Ambassador Bill Asamoah clarified that though the association has been paying them visits for the past 5 years, this year’s edition of the program will be different. In that, the program has been dubbed “Kyere wo do” and this year there has been immense publicity to create global awareness and also join hands with the masses in diverse ways to make life at the facility a perfect one.
…every year we come to Edwenase Rehabilitation Center to make donations in support of your endeavours and give you all the help we have in our capacity… This year’s edition is different because we don’t want to look anymore like it’s only Ghana actors guild that wants blessings… Today we call it “Kyere wo do 2019″, to tell the whole of Ghana and the world about the love we come here to show every year…”
– Bill Asamoah addressed.
According to Bill, although the government has been doing its part by coming to the aid of the facility from time to time, it is still not enough to cater for the needs of all the inmates. In view of that, Bill Asamoah on behalf of the association pleads with not only people of Ghana but with the entire world as well to work hand-in-hand and make this year’s donation program a grand one.
…we’re already aware that this is a government institution, but a few consultations have brought to our notice that the government is sharing the national cake but only small portions go into certain areas and vice versa… Therefore if you’re out there and you have the will to help us with this project, the opportunity is there for you today…” – Amb. Bill Asamoah urged.
The date scheduled for the final donation program, according to chairman Bill Asamoah is Sunday, 21st of April, 2019 at the Edwenase Rehabilitation Center.
